Judith Stephens, 73, of Homosassa, FL, passed away on Wed., Oct. 11, 2017 at Oak Hill Hospital. A native of St. Louis, MO, she was born Feb. 28, 1944 to Kevin and Blanche (Temple) Chalcraft, one of nine children. Judy, as she was known to many, came to Homosassa in 1975 from St. Charles, MO and was a professional certified nursing assistant who served Cypress Cove Care Center in Crystal River for 27 years. Judy loved fishing and was of the Roman Catholic faith. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Stephens was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 52 years, William F. "Bill" Stephens, on Dec. 16, 2015, and a sister, Joy Lea. She is survived by her children Dawn Simmons (husband Roger), Lecanto, FL; Kelly Waters (husband Todd), Inverness, FL; Sherri Carson and Lisa Chesterfield (husband Jesse), both of Homosassa; siblings Diane Williams, Lake St. Louis, Mo; Patricia Gan and Marilyn Powell, both of Warrenton, MO; Karen Stark of Homosassa, FL and Mickey, Vickie and Kennie, all of St. Louis, MO; 17 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren, soon to be 28. Friends will be received at Wilder Funeral Home, Homosassa, on Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M., where a funeral service will take place on Wed., Oct. 18th at 1:30 P.M. Interment will follow at Fountains Memorial Park, Homosassa, FL.
