Emily Taylor, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away on Monday, February 29, 2016 at the Homestead of Sherman. She was 95 years old.

Emily was born on January 19, 1921 in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. She was one of 11 children born to Christian and Mary Elizabeth (Rusch) Hermann. She attended Trinity Lutheran Grade School, Vocational and High School in Sheboygan, Wisconsin.

She joined WAC (Women's Army Corp) in February 1943 and served 28 months stateside. While stationed at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, she met Royce Ray Taylor. They were wed on January 27, 1945.

After discharge, they moved to Sherman where Ray resumed his baseball career with the Sherman-Denison Twins. The family became members of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Emily worked at Pool Manufacturing Company for 20 years. After retiring, she volunteered at Key Care Mission, Home Hospice, Bonham VA Hospital, Sherman Library and Medical Plaza Hospital. She was a member of the American Legion and American Legion Auxiliary for over 50 years and the VFW Auxiliary for over 20 years.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Royce Ray Taylor, son Johnny Ray Taylor, six brothers and one sister.

She is survived by daughters, Rosemary Capps of Sherman, Dixie (Michael) Eoff of Van Alstyne; sons, Jim Taylor (Julie) of Richardson, Tony (Rebecca) Taylor of Wylie; grandchildren , Jeff Scrivner, Terri Scrivner, Michelle (Mark) Callahan, Bryan (Lorrie) Taylor, Heather (Austin) Darr, Michael Taylor, Johnny Eoff (Nicole) , Misty (Sammy) Villarreal; great grandchildren, Eric Scrivner, Cody Scrivner, Brooklin Wilkerson, Lauren Taylor, Kylie Franklin and Trey Sartin, Joey Callahan, Addison Eoff, Caleb Eoff and Taylor Darr. She is also survived by two brothers, Herbert and Kenneth of Wisconsin; and a sister, Clara Fischer, Wisconsin.

Funeral services for Mrs. Taylor will be Friday, March, 4, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Dannel Funeral Chapel with Rev. Charles Meyer officiating, assisted by Rev. William Johnson of Trinity Lutheran Church, Sherman. The family will receive friends Thursday, March 3, 2016 at Dannel Funeral Home from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be sent to Trinity Lutheran Church, 1515 N. Travis, Sherman, TX 75092.
