Thomson, Georgia - Mr. Gerald “Jerry” Allen Bryant, 77, of Whiteoak Estates entered into rest August 23, 2017 at the Georgia War Veterans Home.
 
Mr. Bryant was born in Spokane, Washington to the late Farris William Bryant and the late Irene Culver Bryant. He lived in McDuffie County, GA most of his life. Mr. Bryant served in the U. S. Army in Vietnam and he was retired as a supervisor from W. S. Badcock Corp. He was a member of the A. J. Miller Masonic Lodge in Thomson, the Yaarab Shrine Temple and the Thomson Shrine Club. Mr. Bryant enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved the outdoors.
 
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Barbara Bryant; daughter, Lori Scherer (John) of Harlem, GA; brothers, Bill Bryant of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, Dan Bryant of Kettle Falls, Washington, Tom Bryant of Spokane, Washington and 2 grandchildren, John Bryant Scherer and Robert Louis Scherer.
 
Memorial services will be held at 1 o’clock p.m., Friday, August 25, 2017 in the chapel of Beggs Funeral Home with Rev. John Jenkins and Brother Kenny May officiating. The family will receive friends from 12 until 1 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service. Attending honoraries will be members of the A. J. Miller Masonic Lodge and the Thomson Shrine Club.
 
It is the family’s desire that memorial contributions be made to Shriner’s Hospital Greenville, SC or to the Thomson Shrine Club.
