Catherine M. May of Holland passed away peacefully on Thursday, Oct. 12, 2017, at Twining Village, Holland. She was 89.

Catherine was the beloved wife of the late William J. May. She was the daughter of the late John and Jane Brown Murphy and the loving grandmother of the late Andrew May. In addition to her husband and grandson, Catherine was preceded in death by her brother, John Murphy and her sister, Mary Jane Murphy.

Surviving Catherine are her children, Jane Anne MacWright and her husband, Thomas, William J. May Jr. and his wife, Rhonda, and Diane May Gallagher and her husband, Dr. John; her dear grandchildren, John (Kathleen), Margaret (Alexander), Thomas (Carolina), Stephen (Caitlin), Catherine (Daniel), William, Michael, Alexa, Jeanne Marie, and Julia; and her great-grandchildren, Jacob, Micaela, Benjamin, John, Mateo, Declan and Noah. She also leaves behind her sister, Elizabeth Gues (Raymond).

Born in Philadelphia, Catherine attended St. Leonard's Academy. For many years she worked for Catholic Charities, Trenton Diocese and was deeply devoted to her Catholic Faith.

Above all else, Catherine was the heart of her family. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She will be missed for her warm smile and loving ways.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 20, at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd. (at Holland Rd.), Richboro, PA 18954 followed by her funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. at the Church of St. Andrew, 81 Swamp Rd. Newtown, PA 18940. Her interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Conshohocken.
