Arnold Clifford Lapiene, 94, of East Hampton widower of the late Lily (Weinberg) died peacefully on Thursday Oct. 12th at Middlesex Hospice.

Born May 18, 1923 in East Hampton, he was the son of the late George and Hilda (Swanson) Lapiene.

Arnold was a life long resident of East Hampton and had been married to Lily for 47 years. Arnold proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII and was a founding member of the East Hampton Fowler-Dix-Park Post 5095 of the VFW. He was a member of the East Hampton American Legion.

Arnold was a self employed stone mason and contractor all his life, having left his craft all over East Hampton and Middlesex County. He was retired from Connecticut Valley Hospital Mason Shop.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Richard and Jean (Jordan) Lapiene of East Hampton, his daughter and son-in-law Linda and Ronald Musch of Narragansett, RI, grandchildren Patrick Lapiene, Randall, Phillip and Veronica Musch, great grandchildren Shaelyn, Ryder and Keiley Musch.

Besides his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his siblings George and Norman Lapiene, Helen and Edith Hitriz and Edna Garafalo and his special companion Doris Philips.

A graveside service with military honors will be held Saturday Oct. 21st in Lake View Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the East Hampton VFW Fowler Dix Park Post 5095 20 North Maple St. East Hampton, CT 06424.
