CARR, Gary, L. 72 of Dade City, FL died on Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2017 at his residence. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to HPH Hospice for their compassionate care of Gary. Gary was born in Cleveland, OH to Charles & Sue (Hruska) Carr. Gary and his wife, Linda, retired to Dade City FL in 2009 from Toledo, OH. Gary was a Navy Veteran and worked many years in Ohio as a high school and higher education administrator. He enjoyed attending and working on committees as a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Dade City. He also loved spending time maintaining his yard and garden and working on his house. A weekly highlight was the meeting of the breakfast group with friends and neighbors. Gary is survived by his wife of 19 years; Linda M. Carr, his daughter Melissa Arnold of New Tampa, his son Ryan Carr of Tokyo Japan, step-children Matthew Lillie of Denver, CO, Paul Lillie of Kansas City, MO, Susan Lillie of Wallace, Idaho, sister Marla Carr-Kelly of Leesburg, VA, and 6 wonderful grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am at the First Presbyterian Church of Dade City, followed by a committal service with Navy honors at 2:00 pm at the Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Bushnell, FL 33513. A remembrance reception will be held at 4:00pm at the home of Gary and Linda. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you consider donations to the First Presbyterian Church of Dade City, 37412 Church Ave., Dade City, FL 33525, HPH Hospice, 37445 Clinton Ave. Dade City, FL, 33525 or an organization of your choice.
