Betty Drake Obituary

She loved her family and she loved Jesus. Betty Drake went peacefully to her eternal resting place on October 13, 2017. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Bessie Willoughby; her brother Dale Willoughby, husband Wm. Earl Drake (Bill), infant son Frank Edward Drake and son-in-law Rick Hoyle. She is survived by sister Jacqueline Stultz; three daughters Jill A. Hoyle, Brenda Ansel (Dave) and Glenda Cross (David), and grandchildren Natalie Prodan, Isabela Prodan, Drake Cross and Jackson Cross. Her family was her world.

Betty was born December 8, 1932 in Brazil, IN and was a 1950 graduate of Brazil High School. She married Bill July 7, 1956 and moved to Terre Haute, IN where she lived most of her adult life. She retired from Indiana State University Department of Education Pre-Student Teaching Lab after 25 years of service.

Her hobbies were taking pictures, reading, and finding treasures at garage sales. She attended Terre Haute Christian Church until her health precluded it. She loved music and attended many concerts with her friends and family. She spent her last three years being cared for by her daughters in Indianapolis and by her favorite doctor, Randall Strate, to whom we are grateful for his care.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday October 17th at Crown Hill Cemetery at the Gothic Chapel at 1:00 p.m. with calling from 11:00 a.m. until the service. Visitation will be held Monday, October 16th at Crown Hill Funeral Home in the Memorial Chapel From 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
