Beulah or Buelah or Bowle or Bula - are the different spellings found in records for this lady. She is the last born child of William John Alvis & Sarah Francis Lenard Alvis. One family member said "She married a Dudley Alvis, a cousin. She had one child at 18 or 19 years old. Beulah died young."
On Beulah's father's pension file, where he (in 1898)lists living children and their birth dates, he included "Bula E., April 10, 1885."
I have been unable to locate a marriage license or a child's birth. Several Ancestry.com trees give the marriage date of July 12, 1903 to a John Dudley Alvis. She does have a 1st cousin named John Dudley Alvis. His Find-a-Grave Memorial is # 111134211. I am hesitant to add the link at this time, since I have no marriage license.
Besides the family story of her being buried in Pocahontas Cemetery, an old book "Records of Walker Co., Alabama, including inscription from Marion County" lists her as B. E. Alvis, April 10, 1885-Nov 5, 1905.
Rest in Peace, Sweet Beulah.
