Nancy Marie Kramer, 78, of Duryea, went home to her heavenly reward on Friday, holding the hand of her faithful and devoted husband of 58 years, August L. "Buddy" Kramer.
She was born Dec. 19, 1938, in Scranton, to the late Arthur M. Sr. and Amelia Dommes Pesotine. A graduate of Duryea High School class of 1956, she and her husband were married on Sept. 26, 1959. With his full support, Nancy embarked on one of the most trying yet rewarding careers anyone could aspire to, being a mother. They raised four children, and Nancy made sure they were lovingly cared for and grew to be respectful, talented and God-fearing. Making sure they knew Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior was her priority, and she succeeded with the help of God.
Nancy was a longtime and very active member of the Independent Bible Church of Duryea, where she taught junior church, vacation Bible school, served as a deaconess, was a member of the Ladies Club, and cared for the babies in the nursery. A self-taught pianist who loved to sing for the glory of God, she played the piano for many years and sang in the choir at the church.
She was a very giving person, and would drop what she was doing to give her children or grandchildren any help they needed. Family was her life. Her grandchildren always brought a twinkle to her eye and lifted her spirits, even on the toughest days. On a daily basis, she spent hours lifting up others to the Lord, she was a prayer warrior. Her love for Jesus radiated from her pores and she rarely missed an opportunity to plant the seed of salvation in the heart of anyone around her, especially those she held dear. Even during her illness, she viewed the doctor's waiting room as her personal ministry to share Jesus. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16.
Also surviving are a daughter, Deborah Parrent and husband, Michael, Duryea; three sons, Jeffrey Kramer and wife, Cathy, Duryea; Nicholas Kramer and wife, Rachael, Scranton; and Timothy Kramer and companion, Colleen McGuire, Madison Twp.; two brothers, Arthur Pesotine Jr. and wife, Yvonne, Duryea; and Gary Pesotine, Duryea; 12 grandchildren and another due in December; three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She rejoins her parents; three grandsons, Jonathan Matthew, Tyler Joel and Philip Arthur Parrent; a brother, Donald Pesotine; a stepbrother, Robert Leese; and many friends and family who have gone before to live forever in eternal glory with their Lord and Savior.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to her church family for all your prayers and support, the doctors, and especially the nurses of the Hospice of the Sacred Heart. You were all "angels" in human form who cared enough to love our Nancy as your own.
A celebration of her home-going will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Independent Bible Church, 328 Main St., Duryea, with Rev. Albert Cremard, senior pastor, officiating. Interment, Marcy Cemetery, Duryea.
