Mr. John Ross Allen, age 75, of Hiawassee, Georgia passed away on Friday, October 13, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Johnny was born in Murphy, North Carolina on July 29, 1942 to the late Henry Clay and Nellie Blon (Wood) Allen. Johnny loved life and living in Hiawassee. He taught school in Blairsville for 8 years after college. He owned Johnny's restaurant for years, farms, cattle, construction equipment and much more. He was a visionary for his time and a true entrepreneur at heart. He was a fanatic about basketball and was very competitive in most all sports. He adored his family and was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He was known to create property where no property existed. He was also known to do things on his own terms. His passing was no different, he left peacefully on his own terms. Johnny was also preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Shelby Allen.

Service: Sunday, October 15, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Banister Funeral Home, Hiawassee, GA. music provided by Sheila Eller.
