S/O Irene Watson , V30285 - administration from New Toronto Killed Nov 8/ 43 aged 24. # 116 Bomber Reconnaissance Squadron, Botwood, Newfoundland. The Crew of Canso aircraft # 9834was on a transportation flight when the pilot attempted a night landing on glassy water in hazy conditions. The aircraft crashed and sank in the Bay south-east of Botwood, Newfoundland. S/O Irene Watson aged 24 has no known grave, her name is inscribed on the Ottawa War Memorial, Ottawa, Ontario.
F/L(P) Redmond, Joseph Coates , S/O Irene Watson , Sgt (WAG) Eric John Mills , Major Kenneth Storey Morton , W/O1 (WAG) Mandel Max Epstein , W/C (P) Ralph Royden Ings and P/O (OB) Robert Fleming Lowther all perished in this incident.
