William "Bill" Virgil Klinger of Cottonwood Falls entered into rest Friday, October 13, 2017 at the Chase County Care and Rehabilitation Center in Cottonwood Falls. He was 84.

Bill was born January 20, 1933 in Illinois to Fred and Effie (Lawson) Klinger. He was a Korean War Vet with the US Army. Bill was a Chief’s fan; he loved to fish; enjoyed Nascar races, the Royals, KU Men's Basketball. He was a former member of the VFF. Bill worked for 40 years in construction (mostly laying brick).

Bill is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ginger Klinger; step sons, Mick Robertson and Rick Robertson; and sister, Oma Ragsdale. He is survived by his son, Tracy (Angela Harrison) Robertson of Emporia; step daughters, Janet Robertson of McAlester, OK and Debra (Sheldon) Andrews of Spirit Lake, IA; sister, Melissa Johnson of Emporia; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, October 19, 2017 at Charter Funerals. Pastor Mark Stukey will officiate the funeral service Friday, October 20, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Charter Funerals. Graveside service with military honors will follow at Admire Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Friends of the Zoo.
