W/C (P) Ralph Royden Ings C27599. From Ottawa, Ontario. Killed Nov 8/43 age 30 # 116 Bomber Reconnaissance Squadron, Botwood, Newfoundland. The Crew of Canso aircraft # 9834 was on a transportation flight when the pilot attempted a night landing on glassy water in hazy conditions. The aircraft crashed and sank in the Bay south-east of Botwood, Newfoundland. W/C (P) Ralph Royden Ings has no known grave, his name is inscribed on the Ottawa War Memorial, Ottawa, Ontario.
