Mr. Watson was a veteran, serving his country in the US Air Force. He had retired from Synthetic Industries. He enjoyed woodworking, carpentry, and gardening with his brother-in-law, Roy. He was a member of Ringgold Church of God.
Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Margaret Rogers Watson; his sons and daughters-in-law, Tim and Debbie Watson of Rome, David and Sharon Watson of Ringgold, and Scott and Jennifer Carter of Calhoun; his daughter and son-in-law, Tonya and Scott Burnette of Calhoun; his brother and sister-in-law, Mickey and Ludy Watson of Dalton; and grandchildren, Mathew Watson, Shawn Watson, Kayla Carter Delaney and her husband Shawn, Ryan Burnette, Marybeth Watson, and Kirsten Carter. Other survivors include his brother-in-law and best friend, Roy Rogers; brothers-in-law, Jimmy (Faye) Rogers, and Bradley (Audrey) Rogers; nephews, Stephen Watson and Adrian Watson; and his dog, Charlee.
A graveside Memorial Service to honor the life of Mr. Scott Phillip Watson will be held Thursday, October 13th at 2:00 PM from Haven of Rest Memorial Park, with Rev. Carroll Allen officiating.
The family has requested flowers be omitted, and memorial contributions be made to the America Diabetes Association, Atlanta GA Office, 17 Executive Park, Suite 115, Atlanta, GA 30329-2012.
