Sarah Box Lawson, a lifelong resident of Montgomery passed away on October 10, 2017.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Malcolm Charles Box and Nettie Colson Box; her husband, Col. (retired) Francis (Frank) Lawson; and her sister, Key Box Fannin. She is survived by her sons, Spencer H. Longshore, III (Cindy), and Robert P. Longshore (Gail); a niece, Sarah Jo Fannin Cohen (Stanley); Grandchildren, Sarah Ashley Longshore, Allyson Longshor,e and Marie Longshore Branch (Dave); Great grandchildren, Parker Wright Branch, Sarah Holland Branch, Ryan Branch, and Emily Branch.

She was a career employee of the Montgomery Board of Education and State Department of Education. She was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church Tower Sunday School Class and a member of First Baptist Church of Montgomery..

She was a member of the Francis Marion Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, Colonial Dames of the 17th Century, Gov. James Moore, Jr. Chapter, Daughters of the American Colonist, and the Alabama Historical Research Society. Visitation will be at Leak Memory, Friday October 13th at 10:00 a.m. with graveside services to follow at approximately 11:00 a.m. in Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Montgomery Humane Society or a favorite charity.
