ANDERSON, Ind. — Douglas Scott Parks, 46, passed away March 3, 2011, at Saint John's Medical Center in Anderson following an extended illness.

He was born July 31, 1964, in Anderson, and resided in this area most of his life.

He was a tool engineer working for various shops, including Multiple Engineering.

Douglas served on several committees in the area.

Survivors include his mother, Helen (Smear) Jackson of Anderson; sister, Debra (Richard) Hiles of Pendleton; brother, Timothy Parks of Anderson; father, Charles Parks of The Villages in Florida; nephew, Jesse Looper of Florida; niece, Melissa Porter of Pendleton; great-nieces, Lilliana Porter, Emily Looper and Destiny Porter; great-nephew, Grant Looper; best friends, Kevin Stangle and Shawn Allen; dog, Murphy; uncle, Glen Powers; aunt, Roselie Baker; and several cousins and friends. Douglas was preceded in death by his step-father, Lee C. Jackson; grandparents, Scott and Kathryn (Hodson) Smear and James and Elsie (Whitesel) Parks; his aunt, Betty Powers; and several other aunts and uncles, Nila, Wayne, Leonard, Hubert, Ina, Irene, Garnet, Dorothy and Everet Parks.

Visitation will be from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Monday at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes and Crematory, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson.

Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, officiated by Kent Stookey.

Cremation will take place.
