He graduated from Classen High School in Oklahoma City, and attended the University of Oklahoma on a music scholarship, graduating in 1943. While appearing on stage in New York, he was discovered by a scout for Italian director Roberto Rossellini and began his professional career in Italy. IMDb filmography lists Moore's acting credits to include: “Paisan”, “To live in peace”, "Illegal Entry", "Abbott and Costello Meet the Killer, Boris Karloff", "Johnny Stool Pigeon", "The Girl in White" and "Curse of the Faceless Man", in addition to his work in television. Numerous online resources erroneously list him as “Morfit Thomas Garrison”, which was the birth name of TV entertainer and game-show host Garry Moore.
