Funeral services for Wayne Gifford, 68, of Thatcher, were officiated Wednesday, March 3, at 10 a.m. at the Thatcher Stake Center of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints by Bishop Bill Mullenaux of the Thatcher Fifth Ward. Concluding services followed in the Thatcher Cemetery.
Wayne was born June 9, 1935, in Prescott to Lawrence Vernal and Beatrice Gifford. His family constantly traveled to find work, which left him with a lot of stories to be shared. At the age of 26, he decided to settle down and was married and sealed to Vicki Jean Stoddard in July of 1962. They had six children, five girls and one boy, all of whom are married. Wayne enjoyed fishing, gardening, woodworking, serving in his church callings, and especially being with his wife, his children and grandchildren.
Wayne is survived by his wife, Vicki Gifford, 58, of Thatcher; six children, Pam Provencio, Sandy Clonts, Tricia Bellamy, Lin Gifford, Shelley Pritchard and Joyce Petersen; 19 grandchildren and five siblings.Arrangements were entrusted to Bunker's Caldwell Chapel.
