Loretta was born and raised in New Bedford, a daughter of the late Joseph J. and Lillie (Giroux) England, and had been a lifelong resident of the city before moving to Alden Court seven years ago.
She worked for many years as a Loom Fixer for various garment mills in the area, and attended St. Kilian’s Church. She was also a member of the St. Anthony Seniors, and enjoyed reading, dancing and going for daily walks with her brother, George.
She is survived by two grandchildren James J. Roderiques of Steilacoom, WA and Joann M. Roderiques-Lemon of Lakebay, WA; two great-grandchildren, Jessica A. Roderiques of Lakewood, WA and Rachell A. Roderiques-Lemon of Lakebay, WA; a brother, George N. England and his wife Bernice C. of New Bedford; son-in-law, John Roderiques Jr. of New Bedford, and many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Ora Farrell, Eleanor LeBlanc, Bertha Fisher, Eva Olsen, Albert, Alfred, Edward and Walter England.
A Memorial Service in Celebration of her Life will be held on Friday, August 28, 2015 at 11:00 am in the ROCK FUNERAL HOME, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford. Relatives and friends invited. Burial will be private. Visit www.rock-funeralhome.com for tributes or directions.
