Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 16, 2017, at the First Baptist Church of Memphis, with Rev. Daniel Downey officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.
A daughter of the late Imma Jo and Connie Hartsell, Anita was born on September 13, 1936, in Memphis, Texas. She graduated Memphis High School on May 27, 1955. She and Troy E. Phillips were married on June 3, 1955. Anita was a busy homemaker and mom while her children Liz and Ted were growing up, never missing a school or sporting event. Later she worked for the City of Memphis. After her retirement, Anita enjoyed helping Troy with the cattle at the ranch. Anita enjoyed refurbishing furniture, cooking, sewing and gardening. She loved keeping her grandchildren.
Along with her parents, Anita was also preceded in death by her husband, Troy; son, Ted; and son-in-law, David Lewis.
She is survived by her daughter, Liz Lewis of Wichita Falls; brother, Jimmy Dale Hartsell of Gunbarrell City; grandchildren, Abbie Lewis of Denver, CO; Marcie Phillips of Lubbock, TX; and Mattie Mattocks and husband, Greg of Lubbock; Curt Phillips and wife, Jennifer of Lubbock; great-grandchildren, Maylee Mattocks, Aubree Perez and Adrienne Fernandez; and numerous nieces and nephews.
