Frederick L. Ellis was born March 19, 1948 in Syracuse, New York to the late Betty and Fred Ellis. Fred slowed danced into Heaven on Tuesday, October 10, 2017.
The family moved to Oklahoma City when he was a teenager. Fred attended Oklahoma State University. He owned Ellis School of Ballroom Dance. Fred enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening, and arrowhead hunting.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Joan Armstrong and Susie Ellis, and mother-in-law, Betty Weber.
Fred will be deeply missed by his wife, Karen Barnes-Ellis; daughters, Morgan (Craig Carroll) Ellis and Bettye Ann Ellis; sons, Jonathan (Amber) and Fred Ellis; sisters, Karen (Jimmy) Brown and Lorie (Huey) Roberts; brother-in-law, Dr. Bob Barnes; and father-in-law, Clem Weber.
The family wishes to deeply thank their second family at the Heritage Center for their loving and compassionate care.
There will be a celebration of life service at 11:00 am Monday, October 16, 2017 at Browning Funeral Home, 728 Diamond Ave., Evansville, IN, 47711. The Rev. Kaitlin Moore-Morley will officiate. Burial will follow at St Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Friends may share memories with the family from 12 noon to 7 pm Sunday, October 15, 2017 at Browning Funeral Home. Friends may also visit with the family from 10 am until service time on Monday.
