95, died Monday, October 9, 2017, at Park Terrace Health Campus, Louisville, Kentucky. A beloved family matriarch, she was a native of Bell County, Kentucky, the wife of a Navy Veteran of World War II, a Member of the Order of Eastern Star Fairdale Chapter 153 and Valley Station Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, George E. Mitchell, daughter Gloria J. Maddox, sons-in-law Edward Maddox and August Rennirt, parents Reverend Barney and Ella Hubbard, 9 brothers and sisters, a grandson and 2 great grandchildren. Survivors: sons Barney Mitchell Sr. (Judy), Dr. Edmond Mitchell (Christy) and, daughter Marlene Rennirt, sister Judy Ratliff, 10 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 6 great great grandchildren. Funeral service for Mrs. Mitchell will be held at noon on Monday October 16, 2017 in the Southern Chapel of Arch L. Heady & Son, 3601 Taylor Blvd. with interment to follow in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be from 2-8 pm on Sunday and after 10 am on Monday.
