"William M. Roscoe, of Bainbridge, formerly of Carlisle, died suddenly Friday, Aug. 29, as he was alighting from his car, in the parking lot in Cobleskill. Death was said to be due to a heart attack. Mr. Roscoe was the son of William E. Roscoe, author of a history of Schoharie County to which reference is often made. His mother was Emma Fitch Roscoe and he was born in Carlisle, April 13, 1872. Funeral services were conducted Monday at 2 p.m., at the Mereness Funeral Home, Cobleskill with the Rev. Walter J. "Whitney, Schenectady, officiating. Interment was in Sloansville cemetery. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Margaret Monk Roscoe, of Bainbridge; also, three daughters, Mrs. Walter Hetzel, of Merrick, Mrs. Foster Crosby, of Bainbridge and Mrs. Hiller Hilsinger, of Carlisle."
