Connersville - Fred L. Venable, 91, formerly of 1209 W. 10th St., died Saturday, Sept. 30, 1995, at Heritage House Nursing Home after a long illness.
He was born Feb. 1, 1904, in Buck Creek, Ky., to Walter and Amanda Combs Venable. Venable was a former employee of National Metal and a member of the Western Avenue Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucy Bell Smith; his parents; two sons; a daughter; two sisters; a grandson and a great-grandson.
Survivors include a daughter, Ervine Barrett of Connersville; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and a great-great grandson.
Service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Showalter-Blackwell Funeral Home with Dr. Stan Chaney officiating. Burial will be in Dale Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Monday and noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
