The unincorporated community of Goulds in Miami-Dade County, Florida is named for Lyman B. Gould. Goulds was originally Gould's Siding, where the lumber from the sawmill was loaded onto the trains. He was a foreman of a logging crew who cut railroad ties for the construction of the Key West Extension of the Florida East Coast Railway. His mother was Sarah Irene Wheelock, born in Indiana ca. 1826.
