He attended Mason middle school and Henry Foss high school, where he excelled at basketball and football. He was a part of the 1975 city and state championship football team. He graduated in 1976. His dedication to sports and academics earned him a scholarship to Pacific Lutheran University, where he played football for two years.
In 1981 he married his first wife, Dinah Lyons. They were both members of Bethlehem Baptist Church and sang in the church choir. The two had one daughter, Adrienne Ray.
In 1986 Reggie joined the Pierce County Sheriff's Department. He protected and served the people of Pierce County proudly for 26 years until his retirement in 2011. While on the force he was a D.A.R.E. officer at several local middle schools. His fun personality and sense of humor made him one of the most popular and beloved officers on the job. He was awarded D.A.R.E. Officer of the Year in 1995.
In 1992 Reggie married Sarah Terepocki in Tacoma. The two shared a daughter, Alicia Terepocki, and his stepson, Kaden Terepocki.
Reggie was a master joke teller; an avid collector; a jazz enthusiast; and a compassionate friend, son, brother and father. There was never a deal he could refuse or a friend he couldn't help. Reggie left an impression on everyone he met. He will be missed by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents Paza Washington and Isadore Washington, his stepfather Luther Ray and his uncles Isadore Washington Jr. and Karl Washington.
