Dr H H Adair Dies At 65: Was Postmaster
Dr H H Adair 65 of 728 Arlington Avenue died in Kings Mountain Memorial Hospital here last night
He had been In ill health for several months but recently his health had improved until he suffered a relapse several days ago
Dr Adair had been a practicing veterinarian in Bristol for the past 40 years and was widely known in political circles. He served at one time as postmaster in Bristol Va. Dr Adair also was interested In religion and was very active in the State Street Methodist Church where he was a member of the board of stewards and had at one time served as treasurer of the church
Dr Adair also was put in charge of the Bristol Va city dog-pound .
He is survived by his widow, one son, Hugh T Adair Bristol, a daughter Mrs Archie Nickell, Lexington Ky: two grandchildren and two sisters, Miss Willie Adair, Narrows Va., and Mrs Clarence Symns, Peterstown W Va. Funeral arrangements are incomplete The body is at Blevins Funeral Home .
Dr. Hugh Henderson Adair was born on May 25, 1884, to Julia Haven Bane, age 33, and Robert Wallace Adair, age 36.
Dr. Hugh Henderson Adair (Veterinarian) married Elizabeth Crate Arrants in Meigs, Tennessee, on July 12, 1918, when he was 34 years old.
On death certificate, his place of birth is listed (from hospital records) as Cashmere, Wood County, Virginia and death location as Bristol, Washington County, Virginia, USA. His WW II Draft Registration lists his birthplace as Monroe County, WV--there is a Cashmere listed in Monroe County, WV .
