Charlet Ruth Lamb, 87, of Deputy, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at Norton Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.

She was born on May 10, 1930 in Anderson, Indiana, the daughter of the late Charles L. Beard and Dessie (Smith) Beard.

Ruth was married on Feb. 26, 1949 to Albert F. Lamb, who preceded her in death on Sept. 15, 2014.

She was a retired assistant mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service and the oldest member of the Bethany Baptist Church in Deputy, Indiana Ruth loved spending time with her family and grandchildren and also enjoyed watching baseball, especially the New York Yankees.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Elson Collins; two brothers, Bruce and Wilbur Owens; three sisters, Imogene Lamb, Marie Anderson and Leora Price; a grandson, Derek Lamb and a great grandson, Cameron Foley.

Survivors include a son, Louis and wife Connie Lamb of Deputy, Indiana; a daughter, Donna Collins of Deputy, Indiana; two sisters, Virginia Wren of Haines City, Florida and Velma Lunsford of North Vernon, Indiana; three grandchildren, Chasity Teltow, Shawn Collins and his wife Shelly and Jason Collins and his wife Terry; ten great grandchildren, Kyle, Cierra, Matt, Samantha, Kimberly, Jordan, Jonah, Dakota, Cheyenne and Breann and five great great grandchildren, Colby, Raylen, Aubrie, Grayson and Easton.

Memorial Contributions: Bethany Baptist Church c/o Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana.

Funeral Service: 11:00 am Monday, October 16, 2017 at Collins Funeral Home with Rev. Bryan Collins officiating.

Visitation: 4 to 8 pm Sunday and after 9 am Monday at Collins Funeral Home.

Interment will be in Bethany Baptist Cemetery in Deputy, Indiana.
