Floyd Ray Burke, passed away Sunday, October 8, 2017 at Valley Hospital in Spokane Valley Washington.
Born in Armathwaite, Tennessee on December 16, 1935. He graduated from Glendale High School in Oregon, attended The University of Oregon and in 1956 joined the U.S. Air Force. Ray served 20 years in the Air Force and retired in 1976 from the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado. After serving in the Air Force Ray joined the United States Postal Service where he worked for 20 years.
Ray was an avid golfer, enjoyed bowling, reading, woodworking and in his younger days archery and bow hunting. Ray was a kind and gentle man with a great love for his family.
Ray leaves his wife of 57 years, Joanna Burke; his children, Debi and Don Manes; Danette and Jerry Mane; Doug Burke and Joe Gough, 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
A service will be held at the Washington State Veterans Cemetery in Medical Lake, Washington on Monday, October 16th at 2:00 p.m. English Funeral Chapel has been entrusted with the arrangements. Please visit Floyd's online memorial at www.englishfuneralchapel.com.
