She was born in Townsend, TN. on August 3, 1935, to Harvey and Florence Sullivan. Sylvia was retired from Lab Corps (formerly Roche Biomedical Laboratories).
Preceding her in death by one year was her loving and devoted husband of 64 years, Bobby Hugh Myers. They lived in Maryville and were members of Madison Ave. Baptist Church, where they attended for more than 50 years. Also preceding her were her two beloved grandchildren, Daniel Scott Linkous and Railee Charlotte Bowers; brothers Jim and Ed Sullivan; sisters Dorothy Hembree, Georgia Maples, Shirley Walker Webb, and Colleen Farmer.
Sylvia is survived by her daughters, Kay (Ron) Jarvis and Missy (Brad) Bowers; grandchildren Seth Linkous, Spenser Jarvis, Gracie and Thomas Bowers; brothers Ken and Dennis Sullivan. She will also be dearly missed by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family would also like to thank UT Hospice and special caregivers Pam Blocker and Vickie Cummings.
Per Sylvia’s wishes, there will be a short and private service for family at Grandview Cemetery Chapel prior to interment on Monday, October 16, at 11:00 AM. She also asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to East Tenn. Children’s Hospital or St. Jude Children’s Hospital, which she and Bob faithfully supported in memory and in honor of their grandchildren.
