Darrell Steven Young 61 of Memphis, TN. formerly of Mounds, IL was known to his family and friends as "Stevie", "Bruh", or "Tank" was born to Alfred Wilson and Earnestine (Young) Meeks on August 14, 1956 in Mounds, Illinois. Stevie was the second child of four children.

He confessed a belief in Christ at an early age, while he was attending St. Paul AME Church in Mounds, IL. Stevie was raised and lived in Mounds most of his life until his health began to fail and his sister Dee Dee moved him to Memphis, TN to live with her until his passing. He departed this life on Sunday October 8, 2017 at his home surrounded by family.

Stevie was educated in the Mounds Public School System. He loved being around family and making them laugh with his sayings, "Just Say NO" or "Whatever". Stevie also loved his puzzle books, Reality TV shows, Criminal Minds, Law & Order and Basketball and Football.

He was preceded in death by his Parents, Step Father, Grandmother and Aunts.
