Mark was born Mar. 24, 1918, in Caldwell, Kansas, to Russell and Alta Mendenhall. He was a World War II veteran, having landed at Utah Beach D-Day plus five and fighting in the European Theater including the Battle of the Bulge.

He is survived by his children, Terry (Nelli) Mendenhall of Lenexa, Kansas and Janet (Robert) Hatton of Pueblo; sister, Marian Putnam of Pueblo; grandchildren, Phillip, Heather and Joel Mendenhall, Amber (Daryl) Jensen, Kiera and Elizabeth Hatton, and Olga (Chauncy) Mahan. He is preceded in death by his wife, Samantha Mendenhall, Mar. 25, 2004; his parents; and brothers, Ralph and Porter.
