Charlene married the love of her life, James Benson in 1967 and was just days away from 50 years of marriage. They created three children, Jennifer, Michelle and Matthew. They share much laughter and created a happy home.
Charlene dedicated her life to serving others. She was a skilled operating room nurse at Mercy Hospital for more than 20 years. She could be found serving communion every Sunday at St Stephens Church in Anoka and after retirement served as school nurse at St Stephens.
Thoughtful, creative and generous describe Charlene's gifts to her friends and community. Over the years she used her crafting skills to create gifts and in recent years many beautiful quilts. She was dedicated to making and delivering quilts for the Grateful Hearts Quilters of Minnesota and Quilts of Valor.
Charlene had five great joys in life, her grandchldren, Cooper, Myra, Riley, Vincent and Daniel who thought she hung the moon. She spent hours sewing, playing and baking her chocolate chip cookies.
Charlene made the world a better place with her gifts of love. She was a devoted daughter to her parents, Joe and Mae (deceased), a loyal sister to Fred, Dale and JoAnn and loving aunt to her 13 nieces and nephews and four God-children.
Charlene cared about her neighbors, showing kindness and love to those who crossed her path. Her life was well lived and she was much loved.
