Frank A. Swigert, 84, a former member of the Fresno School Board, passed away at 2:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 30, 1969 following a long illness.

Born in Chili on January 26, 1884, a son of Elisha A. and Althea Ewing Swigert, he married the former Hester Steiner on Oct. 30, 1905, who survives him. The couple celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary last October. A retired farmer, Mr. Swigert was a member of the Fresno United Methodist Church for 62 years. He served as the treasurer and trustee for the church for many years. Mr. Swigert was also a member of the Modern Woodmen Lodge in Fresno.

Along with his wife, he leaves a son, Harold Swigert of Louisville, Ohio; a brother, Brice Swigert of Miami Beach, FL; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter, Evelyn White; a son, Guy Swigert; plus two sisters and one brother.

Funeral in Bonnell-O'Neill Funeral Home in West Lafayette at 1 p.m. on Monday with burial in Fairview Cemetery.
