Janet M. (nee Duhme). Beloved wife of Hugh G. Stiffler. Devoted mother of Gary Stiffler. Cherished grandmother of Lindsey Stiffler & Kenny Stiffler. Passed away Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at the age of 84 years. In 1945, at the end of the big war, she flew to Colorado to marry her high school sweetheart Hugh, a returning war veteran. This year marked their sixty-sixth anniversary. Her faith in God was unwavering, as well as her faith in her family. "She believed that we all have an unlimited capacity for success. Through her life, she invested much of her time in volunteering to help those who could not help themselves." said her son, Gary. Music was a large part of her life, so much so, that she inspired her family to explore many of it's forms. "She taught me to appreciate classical music. I will always remember the trips to the symphony," her grandson Kenny said. At home she could be found reading history or the newspaper and listening to Gershwin or swing. She loved life, any challenge was put behind her with little effort due to her belief that one's attitude is one's reality. Her granddaughter Lindsey remembers, "She wanted everyone to know how privileged we are to have the chance to thrive in America." A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, November 8th at 11 am at the Wyoming Presbyterian Church, 225 Wyoming Ave., 45215. Interment at Spring Grove Cemetery.
