OBITUARY: Anthony "Tony" Michael Fox, March 18, 1985 ~ October 9, 2017 - reprinted from the White Funeral Home website

Anthony (Tony) Michael Fox lost his battle with loneliness and depression and chose to end his life on Monday, October 9, 2017. Our prayer is that Tony found love and connectedness and comfort in the arms of the angels on the other side.

Tony was born on March 18, 1985, to Dan and Sandy Fox in Burnsville, MN. He was their first born and as a son, he followed in the footsteps of his father as a lover of outdoors and hunting for deer, squirrels, and turkeys and participating in skeet shooting. He was most at peace when he was connecting to the spirits that exist in all things nature. Sometimes, when he went hunting, he would choose to simply sit and enjoy the peacefulness of nature rather than hunt. Tony had a dry sense of humor and loved to do things like mess with the Christmas manger and put the lamb in the crib and Jesus on the roof. When they were younger, he would do anything to make his sister laugh, including spraying her with the hose and pretending to smoke a carrot at Christmas one year. Tony graduated from Rosemount High School in 2004, earned a Bachelors of Arts in History from University of Wisconsin – River Falls in 2009, and earned a Master’s Degree in History from University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire in 2011. Part of Tony’s Asberger Syndrome was visible in his love for (and sometimes, obsession with) Latin American history, particularly as it relates to the influence of Communist Russia on Latin America. In his earlier years, he enjoyed participating in a civil war camp and was involved in boy scouts. He loved to read and was a connoisseur of jazz music at a young age. His Asbergers, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), anxiety and depression affected his ability to feel comfortable in most social settings and his ability to make and maintain relationships. In the end, he chose to not continue the fight to fit into this world where he struggled to integrate and relate.

Tony is survived by his father and mother, Daniel and Sandy Fox (Apple Valley), his sister, Lisa (Peter Garofalo) Fox (Eagan) and his paternal grandparents, Urban and Dorine Fuchs (Paynesville) and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Tony was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Edward and Iola Boomgaarden.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation to SAVE (Suicide Awareness Voices of Education) or other suicide prevention organization.

Memorial service 11 AM Friday October 13 at White Funeral Home Chapel, 14560 Pennock Avenue, Apple Valley with gathering of family and friends one hour prior to the service.
