MONTFORT—Marilyn M. Gibson, age 91, of Montfort, was reunited with the love of her life, George H. Gibson, on Sunday, Oct. 8, 2017. Marilyn was born on April 22, 1926, to J. Frank and Marita Wilkinson in Hampshire, Ill. After graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater with a degree in Business Education, she started her career in teaching at Montfort High School. While raising her family, she continued her teaching at Southwest Technical College until her retirement in 1991. She was married to George H. Gibson on June 10, 1950, and soon after started her family. Together they raised six children.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, George Holland (1981); beloved son, James Holland (Melanie) (2014); and brother, Kenneth Wilkinson (Elda). She is survived by five of her six children, Robert (Marian), Bruce (Laura), Gary (Lori), George (Angela), and her last child finally being a daughter, Barbara Gibson-Dann (Mitch). She was blessed with 10 grandchildren, Erik, Scott (Emily), Ryan (Meghan), Kerry, Jarrad, Brendan, Caitlin, Nicholas, Nathan, and Alexandra. She also had the pleasure of holding her three great-grandchildren, Isaiah, Anaiah, and Harrison. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Melanie Gibson; and dear friend, Ruth Paul.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 4, 2017, at the MONTFORT UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, with burial to follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday evening, Nov. 3, 2017, at the SOMAN-LARSON FUNERAL HOME in Montfort and from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church on Saturday morning.
The family would like to send it’s sincerest thanks to the Light House of Sun Prairie, where Marilyn lived the last three years of her life.
