Barbara Hope Raveling was born December 2, 1935, the fourth of ten children to Clarence and Doris (Mott) Raveling. Through her youth she lived in numerous places in western North Dakota working for area farm families. She married Clifton Tangsrud in 1953 and they lived in several places while he served in the U.S. Air Force. This marriage ended in a divorce. She married Ronald Moss in 1978. They made their home at Hamlet, ND. Barbara enjoyed doing needlepoint, crocheting, sewing and knitting. She also enjoyed doing puzzles, gardening, fishing, camping and playing bingo. She was an avid reader and she enjoyed her clowns collection. In 2012, she moved to Bottineau and most recently lived in the Evangelical Lutheran Good Samaritan Center. She died at Saint Andrews Hospital in Bottineau, North Dakota on October 5, 2017.
She is survived by her children, Marla, Dianne, Colleen and Jason; two sisters Mary Joyce and Clarice. She is predeceased by her parents and husbands; son Jeffrey; sisters, Marlene and Opal and brothers Clarence, Donald, Gerald, Henry and Duane. Memorial Service was conducted chaplain from the Good Samaritan Center on Wednesday, October 11, at 10:30 am at the Bottineau Armory. Her ashes were interred at the Grong Cemetery, rural McGregor beside her husband Ron on Thursday, October 12, at 2:00 pm with John Mogren doing the ELCA service of Christian burial.
