George W. Calvert, third son of John (1775-1850) and Sarah Adams Calvert (1777-1867), was born on September 17, 1810, in Bourbon County, Ky. He married his first cousin Amanda Calvert (c1823-93), daughter of Cecilius (1791-1854) and Penelope Reno Calvert (1795-1886), of Trimble County, Ky. They moved to Pawnee, Ill. Eight of their eleven children were John (c1844-) married Anna Rogers; Sarah (c1845-) married Silas Davis; Perlina (c1849-) married (1) Thomas Taylor, and (2) Brown; Nancy J. (c1850-); Amanda (c1855-); Margaret A. (c1856-); Silas (1861-1943); and Jesse Thomas Calvert (1862-1939).

George Calvert died in 1873 at Pawnee, Ill. His wife, Amanda Calvert, died July 22, 1893, at Dennis, Kan. They are buried ___.
