WINSTON-SALEM Oct. 11, 1957 - June 21, 2017 Deborah Pugh Brooks, 59, of Winston-Salem, passed away Wednesday, June 21 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born October 11, 1957 in Asheboro, NC to Ernest Colbert Pugh and Betty Trogdon Wood. Debbie graduated in 1976 from Asheboro High School and was the owner of a caf‚ and catering business in Lexington, NC. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dean Brooks, and her father, Ernest Pugh. Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter Nina Hundley, son in law Caleb Hundley, and grandson Elias Dean Hundley of Winston-Salem, her mother Betty Wood of Asheboro, brother Wayne Pugh and his wife Becky of Asheboro, brother Anthony Pugh of Asheboro, sister Denise Dunn and her husband Randy of Asheboro, sister Wendy Rutledge of Asheboro, and brother in law Steve Brooks of Lexington. She had five nephews and four nieces. Debbie loved the Lord and was a light to all who met her. She was a loving mother, sister, and friend who will be deeply missed. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Calvary Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 12:00 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
