Kevin Lee Akers, 53 of Hollywood, MD passed away suddenly on Sunday, September 24, 2017 at his home.
He was born February 15, 1964 in Washington, DC to the late Roy Edward Akers and Beverly Caroline Shegogue Lubin.
Kevin was a lifelong resident of St. Mary's County. Kevin was an avid outdoorsman and loved animals and nature.
Some of the things that he enjoyed the most were spending time with family and friends, reminiscing with loved ones while captivating them with his fantastic storytelling abilities, playing his guitar, riding horses, and sitting outside and watching nature, just to name a few.
Kevin is survived by his mother, Beverley Lubin of Hollywood, MD, his son Kyle Redman of Chaptico, MD, his siblings; Janet Johnson of Mechanicsville, MD, Karen Svoboda (John) of Piney Point, MD, and Terry Akers of West Virginia, his nieces and nephews; Stephanie Johnson of Mechanicsville, MD, Megan Svoboda of Piney Point, MD, Cole Geragi of South Carolina, Christopher Farley of South Carolina and Cory Svoboda of Piney Point, MD.
Kevin was preceded in death by his Father Roy Akers, and siblings; Edwin Akers and Sharon Geragi.
Family will receive friends for Kevin's Life Celebration on Friday, October 13, 2017 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., with prayers recited at 7:00 p.m., at Brinsfield Funeral Home, P.A., 22955 Hollywood Road, Leonardtown, MD 20650. Funeral Service will be on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. at Fellowship Church, 9805 Faith Baptist Church Road, White Plains, MD 20695.
Interment will follow at 1:30pm at Trinity Memorial Gardens at 3221 Mattawoman Beantown Road, Waldorf, MD 20601.
