Gail B. Fox, 90, of Brookdale Senior Living, went to be with the Lord on Sunday.

He was a member of Greene Ridge Freewill Baptist Church.

Gail was a native of Greene County; he served in the Army during World War II. He was co-owner of Armstrong and Fox Grocery for approximately 12 years. Farming was a love and a life career.

He was preceded in death by his by his first wife: Lillian Wilhoit Fox; second wife: Martha Shrader Fox; five brothers; three sisters.

Survivors include his children: Ronald (Kathy) Fox, Linda (Terry) Anderson; step-children: Donna Derry, Dianne (BJ) Cobble, David (Donna) Morris, Shirley Louis and Dale; grandchildren: Emily (Bobby) Smith, Matthew Anderson; step-grandchildren: Terry (Sarah) Anderson Jr., Eddie (Elizabeth) Derry, Melissa (Sammy) Widner, April (Greg) Farley, Dr. Preston (Dr. Victoria) Morris, Dan'yel (Darrell) Price; great-grandchildren: Taylor and Travis Malone, Tanner and Logan Smith, Abigail and Ava Anderson; step-great-grandchildren: Hannah and Cameron Anderson, Brian (Tiffany) Farley, Chris and Stephanie Farley, Derrick Widner, Alyssa Derry, Julie and Callie Price, and Austin Ebbs; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 p.m. on Tuesday at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home with the funeral service following at 8 o'clock in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. Gene Swatzell and the Rev. Jeff Daughtery will officiate.

A military graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Union Chapel Cemetery with the Greene County Honor Guard conveying honors. Family and friends are asked to meet at Doughty-Stevens at 10 a.m. to go in procession to the cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Taylor Malone, Travis Malone, Matthew Anderson, Bobby Smith, Roger Hensley, and Roger Hampton. Honorary pallbearers will be employees of Brookdale Senior Living, Amedisys Hospice care, and members of Greene Ridge FWB Church
