Darrell Wayne Parker, 84, born on July 27, 1933 in Lewisville, TX passed away on October 7, 2017 from complications of dementia. He is preceded in death by his father Gordon Parker and mother Stella Mae (Cunningham) Parker, and his 2 brothers and 4 sisters. He is survived by his ex-wife Kathy Parker. Darrell was a star football player in High School for the Lewisville Farmers. He joined the Army and served from 1954-1956 overseas at Brize Norton in England. He graduated from the University of North Texas with a business degree. He had a long career at Texas Instruments in manufacturing and marketing from 1959-1991. Darrell was fun loving and always enjoyed life. He adored his miniature poodles and cats, the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers, his sports cars, and his mamas’ spaghetti. He resided in his home in Dallas for almost 40 years. Special thanks to the staff at Silvercreek Assisted Living in Garland and to CNC Home Care, also the dedication and care of his guardian Chris Clausen, and close friends Larry and Zoe Chapman. We are gathering from 9:00-10:00 AM on Wednesday October 11, 2017 at Restland Funeral Home. The graveside service will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday October 11, 2017 at Whispering Waters Urn Garden at Restland Memorial Park. Donations can be made to the SPCA as Darrell loved animals.
