Her parents, Fred Hoery and Marie Johnson, raised her and sisters Joan Taylor and Janet Nelson on the family dairy farm in Aurora. After graduating from Aurora High School in 1952, Jean attended Loretta Heights College for a year. She and Art were married on July 20, 1954, in Aurora. They lived in four states before settling in Ft. Lupton in 1967. Survivors beside her sisters included her four children: Gary (Glorianna) of Butlerville, IN, Dianne, Greg (Linda) and Julie (Arlen Engbarth). Jean’s faith was the foundation of her life and was demonstrated through her hope, optimism and volunteering to help others. She was church secretary at St. Williams Catholic Church and a member their for 50 years. Rosary service held October 12th was followed by Mass of Christian Burial October 14th, both at St. Williams Catholic Church in Ft. Lupton.
