He likes to read western novels, to hear Slim Whitman pluck his old guitar and to listen to his favorite western radio programs. His number one song is Married By The Bible and Divorced By The Law.

He enjoys Gary Gorton as his pet peeve, the color blue, the Ford car, the senior year at N.F., Spanish as his favorite class, and all kinds of fruits for dessert. Glenn's preferred pastime is hunting and his happiest moments are when he can relive them in his tall tales.

PASSAGE. Glen Earl Moon was born June 11, 1936, to Samuel Ray Moon and Ivy May Dixon Moon in Sarilda, Idaho.

He passed away surrounded by family in his home on October 5, 2017.

He was the 5th of eight children raised on a farm west of Ashton, Idaho. He grew up farming, hunting, fishing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling and loved working outside. Glen attended elementary school in Sarilda's one room school house and later graduated from North Fremont High School in the spring of 1955.

He married Barbara Jean Deatherage on June 8, 1957. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple on June 9, 1965. From their marriage came nine wonderful children.

Glen farmed and logged for most of his adult life. As the years passed, he became less and less willing to leave Fremont County or the State of Idaho due to his love of the area (which he referred to as "God's Country"). He loved picnics, barbeques and family gatherings where he enjoyed the company of his children and grandchildren. He loved his family and was proud of all his children.

Glen is preceded in death by his brother, Baby Boy Moon; his parents; sister, Muriel; a daughter, Glenda Del Porto; and a son, Kevin Moon.

He is survived by wife, Barbara Jean Moon; children: Tammy (Dean) Hatt, Vendla (James) Parrish, Jim (Anna) Moon, Sara Moon, Reese (Lark) Moon, Amy (Frank) Sykes, and Dennis (Alisa) Moon; son-in-law, John Del Porto; daughter-in-law, Shanda Crystal; 32 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren; brothers: Warren, Ellsworth, AJ and Dennis Moon; and his sister, Beatrice Blain.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to Encompass Home Health and Hospice Agency for the kind and caring service they provided to our Dad.
