DURHAM - Virgie H. Williams, 100, departed this life on September 7, 2015.
She was a devoted teacher for 40 years, teaching elementary through high school students. She taught in various schools in Wake, Durham and Harnett Counties. She was also awarded Teacher of the Year by the NC Association of Classroom Teachers in 1976-1977.
She leaves behind one sister, Cora Odell McKoy; several generations of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
Holloway Memorial Funeral Home will have a viewing Sunday afternoon.
A viewing will be held at Mt. Zion Christian Church on Monday, September 14 from 12 to 1 p.m. and funeral services will begin at 1:00. Burial will be at Beechwood Cemetery directly after the funeral service.
