Pauline Lucille (Hartley) Barnett, age 95, of Madisonville passed away on October 7, 2017 in Madisonville. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at the Madisonville Funeral Home. Lanier Stevens and Bro. Glenn Campbell will officiate the service. Interment will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery near Franklin, Texas. Pauline (Hartley) Barnett was born on April 10, 1922 in Buffalo, Texas to Willie Leroy & Lena (Mandel) Hartley. At one time, she was a church secretary and bookkeeper. She also did secretarial work for Vernon Baugh and Bobby Samuel. Additionally, Mrs. Barnett worked as a secretary and bookkeeper for Farm Bureau Insurance Agency in Madisonville. Mrs. Barnett had a servant's heart and loved to serve her family. She was an excellent seamstress and sewed all of her daughter’s clothing when she was younger. She also loved to cook. Her family will forever remember her blackberry cobbler; chicken, broccoli and rice casserole; and Sunday pot roast with carrots and potatoes. Mrs. Barnett was a member of the First Baptist Church in Madisonville and believed strongly in supporting church mission programs. She had lived in Madisonville since 1972, coming from Bryan, Texas. Mrs. Barnett was preceded in death by both of her parents and sister, Hazel Middlebrooks. She is survived by son, Clifford (Leslie) Barnett of Conroe; daughter, Paula Meyers of Madisonville; father of Clifford & Paula, C.E. Barnett & his wife of Franklin; and brother, Leroy Hartley of Houston. She is also survived by grandchildren, Jonathan Meyers & Noelle Peters and great granddaughter, Hazel Peters. Memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church Missions Fund, 300 S. Elm St., Madisonville, TX 77864; The Dwelling Place, and the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship, P.O. Box 102972, Atlanta, GA 30368 (please note on envelope Ministry of Butch and Nell Green). Madisonville Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
