Mr. Samuel M. Cannon, Jr., 75, died Wednesday morning (March 14, 2007) at Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, FL following a short illness.

He was a native of Manchester, GA but had resided most of his life in Ware County. He was married to the late Martha Gibson Cannon and was the son to the late Samuel M. Cannon, Sr. and Maude Carpenter Cannon.

He retired in 1986 from CSX Railroad. He was a member of Hebardville Baptist Church, Frank C. Folks Lodge # 192 F&AM, and was a Scottish Rite 32nd Degree Mason.

The survivors include two daughters, Brenda Ardoyno of Waycross, Sharon Anderson (husband Gary) of Tifton; two sons, Samuel M. Cannon, III and Robert G. Cannon both of Waycross; eight grandchildren, Michelle Gillis, Rob R. Ardoyno, Colt Anderson, Tate Anderson, Will Anderson, Josh Cannon, Clent Cannon, Chad Cannon; and three great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday (March 17, 2007) at Oakland Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at Music Funeral Home Friday night from 7 until 9.
