Fred Lee Helms, 75, of Woolwine, VA, died on Sunday October 8, 2017 at his home. He is the son of Fraze Helms and Emma Cruise Helms. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife Pauline Helms, one sister; Loveda Hylton, three brother; Ernest Helms, Coy Helms and Glenn Helms.
He was of the Primitive Baptist faith and was self employed for Helms Logging in Woolwine, VA
Surviving are his wife Lucille McBride Helms of the home, four sons; Marty Helms and wife Carrie of Woolwine, VA, Mark Helms and wife Jennifer of Woolwine, VA, Mike Helms and wife Christy of Stella VA, Ricky Bowman and wife Ashley of Mount Airy, NC,one daughter; Vicky Trent of Woolwine, VA one brother;Claude Helms of Meadows of Dan, VA, one sister,Dorothy Belcher and. husband Lois of Meadows of Dan, VA sixteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at Sycamore Baptist Church cemetery in Stuart, VA with Minister Gerald Melton officiating.
The family will receive friends on Monday, October 9, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Norris Funeral Services in Stuart and other time at the home of Mark Helms at 51 Kids Valley Lanes Woolwine, VA.
