SERVICES FOR SWAN LUNDEEN TUESDAY
Came To America From Sweden In 1867.
Funeral services for the late Swan Lundeen, who passed away at his home in Galva Friday night after an illness of several weeks, were held Tuesday afternoon from the Swedish Methodist church, of which he was a member. The Rev. A. G. Petersen, pastor of the church, had charge of the service and the songs were by Mrs. Eskil Johnson and Oscar Johnson, with Miss Nellie Jaderquist as accompanist. The pallbearers were L A. Carlson, Olof Johnson, John Soderberg, John Carlson, Nels Wexell and Andrew Fahnstrom.
Interment was in Galva cemetery.
Swan Lundeen was born in Ringa, Norrala Parish, Sweden October 2, 1846, coming to America in 1867 He came to this neighborhood at once, working and farming near Ulah, Bishop Hill and Victoria In February, 1883 he was married to Mrs Christine Grannell. They made their home on a farm near Ulah, until 1901 when they retired and moved to Galva, where they have lived until the present time

Mr. Lundeen became a member of the Bishop Hill church shortly after coming to this country, transferring his membership to the Galva Swedish Methodist church at the time he moved to this city. He has been a faithful member and has held a responsible church office for many years.
He is survived by his wife and stepson, Eric Granell, of Clarksville, Minnesota, whe came for the funeral, accompanied by Mrs Grannell; also two brothers, Peter of Bishop Hill, and
Jonas, of Orland, California; and two sisters, Mrs. Anna Johnson, Orland, California, and Mrs. Lena Dahlgren, Timberlake, South Dakota. Two other sisters preceded him in death.
Mr. Lundeen, in the many years which he has spent in this and neighboring communities, has been known as a respected, upright and honest citizen, and he leaves a host of friends to mourn his passing.
